NOTICE: Due to the current State of Emergency requirements and out of concern for our members, their families, and the staff at Woody’s, it is with regret that we have postponed our upcoming meetings until further notice.
Our special event with Lindsay Adler that was scheduled for April 19, 2020 has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2020.
Our regular Monthly Meetings have been suspended until we have more information regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.
Please read this MESSAGE FROM OUR SECTION CHAIR, AL KNATAITIS:
I hope everyone is well and staying safe. Please keep Liz at Woody’s in your thoughts as she definitely under duress with this closing. Sorry we had to cancel Caleb Williams in March but beyond our control.
At this time I assume April is also a washout. If we were to meet in April, Elisa and I would be presenting our banner process, capture to finish.Ed Lewko and I spoke this week and he is excited and looking forward to present to us. That is scheduled for May 20. Further details to follow. As you all should know by now, we had to postpone Lindsay Adler to November 1, 2020. This is still a Sunday. Lindsay has been confirmed and he event site confirmed. All registered attendees have been individually contacted and any necessary refunds have been issued. Only two at this time are not attending, but others who asked for refunds will still be attending, they just did not want to tie up the money through the summer. Elisa has re-posted the event to many Facebook groups already, and other photographers have been posting and sharing to help promote the event. Lindsay’s manager has been negotiating with Canon on our behalf and it appears even with our smaller numbers, Kathleen has arranged for a partial sponsorship of this event. Kathleen has really stepped up for us! If the world returns to normal, we will be on location near Ithaca at a farm for our June meeting. Once again, details to follow.
Bruce Berg and I have been conversing and he may be available most likely in October. It is dependent upon selling other area sections on hosting him also. It is a work in progress.
District competition is open and runs til May 7 without additional financial cost. Not sure of its final end date. Hope everyone stays safe, stays well, and Elisa and I look forward to seeing all of you. Please contact me with any questions/ suggestions for the group and I will do my best.
